The world as we know today is rapidly changing and faces serious global challenges, such as those related to pandemics, energy, environment, poverty, food, water and human security. The issues of population lie at the root of all these issues.

For more than 40 years, APDA has successfully conducted unique projects focusing on the role of parliamentarians who represent the people. In 2018, in recognition of its contributions to the public interest, APDA was certified by the Cabinet Office of the Government of Japan as a public interest organization eligible to receive donations associated with the Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon*. This is awarded to individuals or organizations that donate substantial funds for the benefit of the public.

APDA's activities for parliamentarians in Japan and abroad are primarily supported by international organizations such as the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). We also conduct our activities with support from private-sector corporations and donations from individuals. We sincerely invite continued support from all who share our mission and vision. Your support will be utilized for the following purposes:

1. Convening seminars and training sessions to share information and knowledge in Japan and abroad
2. Surveys and research to make policy recommendations
3. Publicity and promotional materials on population issues and activities.

*The Medal with Dark Blue Ribbon is one of the medals of honor to be awarded to individuals or organizations that donate private funds (5 million yen or more for individuals and 10 million yen or more for organizations) to a public interest organization certified by the Government of Japan.
