On 1 November, Hon. Kikawada Hitoshi, Secretary General of JPFP, handed over to Hon. Hosaka Yasushi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, a formal request for increasing Japan's contributions in the field of population.

Hon. Kikawada emphasized that the issue of population is essential especially for the achievement of SDG 3 and SDG 5 and that in order to prevent maternal deaths and unintended pregnancies, it is necessary to strengthen the activities of UNFPA and IPPF and support for them.
