On 11 April, JPFP held a briefing meeting for the GCPPD 2023 and received briefings on each session topic, in particular relating to the Japanese situation, from the following Ministries:

Session 1 “World Population hits 8 Billion“ and Session 5 “The Parliamentarians Network” by Director of Global Health Strategy Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Session 2 “Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment” by Director of General Affairs Division, Gender Equality Bureau, Cabinet Office
Session 3 “Investing in Youth” by Counsellor (Youth Support and Career Development) to the Director-General for Human Resources Development, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW)
Session 4 “Ageing Population and Healthy Longevity“ by Director of Division of the Heath for the Elderly, Health and Welfare Bureau for the Elderly, MHLW

At GCPPD, many JPFP members shared Japan’s experience with participants from other countries and deepened the discussions. Hon. Takuma Miyaji and Hon. Yoshinori Suematsu made a presentation in Session 3 and Session 5 respectively, while Hon. Prof. Keizo Takemi (Chair of AFPPD and Executive Director of JPFP), Hon. Yoko Kamikawa (Chair of JPFP), Hon. Ichiro Aisawa (Senior Vice Chair of JPFP), Hon. Hitosni Kikawada (Secretary General of JPFP) and Hon. Ayano Kunimitsu served as a moderator or a session chair. Hon. Dr. Toshiko Abe and Hon. Shinsuke Okuno made comments during the discussion.
